Day Twenty-Two - Vevey, Switzerland

Day Twenty-Two – Vevey, Switzerland

I’m not sure I ever want to get on a train again after today. Six hours of train riding. Phew! I attempt to sleep whenever I’m on a train but it’s not super comfortable and the Swiss don’t like for you to prop your feet up on the seats. Rude. :P

But anyways, it’s ok I don’t mind the train rides because of the beautiful views like I mentioned in the last blog posts. The reason we had such a long train ride is because we left at 6:30 A.M. this morning (mom are you proud that I was awake?) to go see The Matterhorn! For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s the most photographed mountain in Europe and if you google it, I’m sure you will recognize it. For all you bachelor fans out there, Ben proposed to Courtney in front of it last season :P

It was beautiful to see it with all the snow on it and even though it was cold where we were this morning, it quickly heated up and we were all shedding layers! We were in a town called Zermatt looking at the Matterhorn but it was obviously way higher than we were so that’s why we weren’t cold.  Some people did a ropes course there that was pretty cool and obviously had an incredible view, but those of who didn’t want to pay for it just sat and observed J I’m holding out for ziplining through the Amazon someday :P

After that, we walked around Zermatt a little bit and window shopped for a while before eating the lunches we packed (we’re getting the hang of this whole eating on a budget thing!) Then after the long train ride back, I took a quick nap and we all got ready for dinner!

The day isn’t over yet but I think some of us are planning on going back out for ice cream to watch the sun set again later. That was just so much fun the other night!

Until next time,

MC
