Day Twenty-Five – Florence, Italy
Well if you’re wondering if today was any different from yesterday….it
wasn’t. We shopped. And ate more gelato.
I did buy a purse today – that Drew haggled down from 100 Euros to 30
Euros for me – and some sunglasses and a few other little things. I absolutely
love this. It’s so fun and Drew is HILARIOUS when he haggles. He should win an
award…he’s researched so much designer stuff that he knows exactly how to tell
when things are not real and how much they are sold for in China Town so he can
always get them to lower their prices.
One of our favorite experiences today was when we were
looking at some Louis Vuitton and Prada bags on the street…and obviously if
they’re selling things off a cardboard box and they run when the cops come it’s
not real….and this lady came up to Drew and whispered to him “don’t get it, it’s
not real!” And we were like um yeah we know but thanks haha…it was just funny
because she thought she had this great insider information. Bless her.
We also went to the McDonald’s today. Don’t judge us – it’s
expensive to eat here in Florence so we gotta do what we gotta do. They had the
really cool ordering machines here too so America needs to jump on that. It’s
interesting to see how much McDonald’s localizes their menu to whatever region
they’re in and how much smaller the portions are in other countries.
We ate lots more gelato today as always and I’m pretty sure
we’re all going to need to take out some loans after the damage we did today – just kidding, I’m actually pretty proud of myself for the amount of things I said no to today
tho! I could’ve easily bought every purse there – gosh they were so beautiful!
I’m coming back to Florence someday with nothing on my agenda except
purse-buying.
How I’m going to get this all home is the real question
though…there’s no way my suitcase can fit all of this ahhhh!
Until next time,
Until next time,
MC
