Day Ten at Sea

Day Ten at Sea

Well this was our last full day at sea! After today we have two stops at French ports before we arrive in England. This morning, our class assignment was to shadow someone on the cruise director’s staff to see what they do on a day-to-day basis and Andy and I were assigned to Felicity who is working her first transatlantic cruise. We’d met her earlier this week doing some different events already and she got to share with us a lot about the good and bad of her job. Since she’s new, she’s having to go through a lot of customer service training right now and just learning to deal with all types of clientele. It was really good experience for us to hear this as a part of our Travel and Tourism class that we’re taking. I truly believe that immersing yourself in something is the best way to learn and we are truly doing that with travel and tourism on this cruise. I’ve learned so much about so many things and I never would’ve guessed that a cruise would be such an educational experience…I know it sounds crazy but I’m serious!!

After that, we had International Marketing class and we finished up module 3 of notes. Then….it was nap time. I’ve never taken so many naps in my life. It’s amazing. Then I woke up in time for Travel and Tourism class and then headed to the Starbucks cafĂ© to grab a caramel macchiato and type up some notes.

Then we all got ready for dinner and it was formal night again so we all curled our hair and I did Alyssa’s make up and Caitlin Miller’s hair and make up. It brought me back to the days when I was convinced I was going to be a make up artist :P

Dinner was fabulous because we had lobster!! Best lobster I’ve ever had, hands down. Then after dinner we all took a bunch of formal pictures since we were all dressed up and Eric was my “awkward prom date” for pictures purposes. Then we all went to the show for the night and oh my GOSH! It was Tango Buenos Aires so it was basically one hour of straight tangoing and I don’t think I’ve ever been so entertained in my entire life. It. Was. Incredible! I can’t wait to show you all back home the videos I’ve been making of everything. Wow. Anna I hope your cruise is as much fun as this one is!! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to downgrade from Royal Caribbean after experiencing this cruise – it’s one of the top five cruiselines worldwide so I’m getting spoiled big time!!

After watching that masterpiece of a show, Caleb and I were in the mood to dance so we went down to the lobby and samba’d a little bit to practice our new moves. Then we all wandered around and hung out for a bit before Caitlin and Rachel and I went up to the vortex to dance!! It was SO much fun. Sam and Alyssa came up there eventually too as did our new friend Mark and we all danced the night away. Tomorrow is a day at port in Brest, France so I should get some wi-fi to update all this!!

Until next time,

MC
